Chronic Pain and Stress All
of us would probably agree that pain and stress go hand in hand. There are so many factors that compound stress when you have
a chronic illness. Living with a chronic illness can be hard on relationships, taxing on finances, not to mention a sense
of uncertainty which only adds fuel to the fire.
So,
what can a person do about those challenges? The best answer to that question is discovering ways to lower
your own personal stress level. It is a proven fact that stress provokes a flare. It would make sense then,
to do what you can to alleviate as much unhealthy stress as possible, and avoid being a slave to it, allowing it to determine
the direction of your health. I am including a few trusted resources
here to help you, and to remind me of what it takes to keep stress from compromising your health.
Everyday Health is a good starting point and contains lupus-specific stress management tips. The National Pain Foundation blog is another
place to check out. Dealing With Stress & Pain, written by Margee Morris is helpful.
Articles from WebMd are written by reliable experts and provide a lot helpful information.
Here is one article I found on the stress/pain topic. WebMd
Finally, many of you may not
know that I am a Life Coach. My practice is called Covenant Life Coaching. As part of my practice, I have created a Six-Week Stress Management Program that incorporates individual coaching with practical skills that dramatically reduce
stress. The best part about my practice is that I conduct face to face sessions via Skype, which enables people who are homebound,
or people with busy schedules, etc. to still take advantage of the program. You can visit Covenant Life Coaching to find out more or contact me at covenantlifecoaching@gmail.com.
Blessings on your day! Rejoice &
Be Glad In It!
